My Story
In 1970, I was a professional office’s FIRST and ONLY employee. I was about 22 years old and TOTALLY set up the entire office, including every folder and file, every cabinet, every drawer and did it in about two weeks. I continued to keep up and maintain the office for two years. My employer was ecstatic.
One weekend, I did a kitchen. I took everything out of all cupboards and wiped off all shelves, including the pantry and cleaning closet. By the time I organized this small kitchen, there were four empty shelves. Everything the client used was within her reach . It took me four hours.
| When I actually organize, I will take EVERYTHING out of the drawer or cabinet or shelf or closet and wipe everything down. Then, as I put things back, if the client is there, we go through each thing and determine if it’s old, damaged, if they have duplicates, if it’s out of style or doesn’t fit, if the food has expired, if the dishes are old and grungy, or if she knows she will NEVER use it again (whatever it is). Then as I put things back, I arrange things for their convenience. | ![]() |
